Philosophy

Our belief is that early childhood is the most crucial period of development. We aim to provide a safe, creative, and encouraging environment that will feed their ever-evolving passions. Our space is one in which music, art and creative self-expression are encouraged and emphasized. We believe healthy play involves sharing, collaboration, and mutual respect. It is with great love that we look forward to playing a role in evolving their unique spirit in this amazing period of life.

Our curriculum is rooted in a play-based approach. Young children learn most effectively through play. Our activities challenge children to use all 5 of their senses. An apple needs to be touched, sliced open, examined, and eaten. We need to explore where that apple comes from by creating crafts of apple trees and orchards. We want to know what season produces apples and why. Stimulating a child’s mind to be curious and inquisitive is our priority. Whether it be music, painting, sensory exercises, or group projects, we want to fully engage our children in a way that is meaningful to them. We are inspired in many ways by the Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf approaches. However, our approach is uniquely our own.

“Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.” – Friederich Froebel (founder of the concept of kindergarten)
